The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) says it has recaptured 21 inmates who escaped from Jos correctional centre.
The correctional facility was attacked by gunmen in November.
A prison official and nine inmates were killed during the attack while one of the attackers died in a gun duel with security agents.
About 262 inmates were said to have escaped from the correctional facility but ten were recaptured leaving 252 at large.

Mohammed Tukur, deputy controller-general of NCoS, had blamed the attack on the paucity of modern equipment and other gadgets.
The NCoS had subsequently published photos and names of some of the escaped inmates.
In a statement on Tuesday, Geofrey Longdiem, public relations officer (PRO) of the Plateau command, said the service, in collaboration with other security agencies, was working to arrest the remaining inmates

“As of today, we have recaptured 21 of the inmates who escaped during the last attack at our custodial centre in Jos,” he said
He said some of the inmates voluntarily returned.
The incident in November was the second recorded attack on a correctional facility in Jos.
In July, there was a jailbreak at the Jos custodial centre, which led to the escape of four inmates.
