Justice Muslim Hassan has withdrawn from presiding over the alleged N4.9bn fraud case involving former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode.

Hassan, a judge of the federal high court in Lagos, on Thursday, declined further hearing of the case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He ordered that the case file be returned to Ibrahim Aluta, chief judge of the federal high court, for re-assignment to another judge.

“This court will decline hearing this case further and refer the case to the chief judge of this honourable court.”

He directed Fani-Kayode and his co-defendants to await further directive from the chief judge.
