APC sweeps Fayose’s local govt

With 13,869 votes, Kayode Fayemi, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in Irepodun-Ifelodun local government area of Ekiti state.

Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state and the number one supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate is from Afao-Ekiti, a community in Irepodun-Ifelodun.

Kolapo Olusola, the PDP candidate, polled 11,456 votes in the local government.

Collation of results is ongoing in the keenly contested exercise.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to officially declare the results but its officials in local government areas are currently collating results of the exercise.
