Chelsea defeated West Bromwich Albion 0-1 to win the 2016/17 English Premier League at the Hawthorns on Friday.
The match was goalless at half time despite Chelsea’s dominance during the first forty-five minutes.
An obdurate defensive display from the Baggies limited their opportunities.
After a similar display for most of the second half, Michu Batshuayi slid in to tap the ball home from five yards in the 82nd minute.
The lone goal earned Chelsea the title.
Chelsea have now won five Premier League trophies.
Antonio Conte becomes the fourth Italian gaffer to win the English league – a year after Claudio Ranieri masterminded Leicester City’s incredible triumph.
The 47-year-old follows in the footsteps of compatriot Carlo Ancelotti who led the Blues to the feat seven years ago and Roberto Mancini, who helped Manchester City win the league in 2012.
Conte has enjoyed success all season.
He became the first manager in history to win three successive manager of the month awards.
His latest triumph represents the seventh piece of silverware Conte has won in his illustrious managerial career.
