The supreme court has dismissed the application of Herman Hembe, sacked member of the house of representatives from Benue state.

On June 23, the apex court sacked Hembe and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to present Dorathy Mato with the certificate of return of Vandeikiya/Konshisha federal constituency.

The court also ordered Hembe to return all the salaries and allowances he collected while in office.

But in an application, the sacked lawmaker asked the court to wave the orders because he did not have money to pay.

At the court on Wednesday, the five-man panel of judges led by Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), said the judgement could not be revisited.

The application was dismissed while N1 million was awarded to Mato.
