FC Barcelona has announced the signing of Sergio Aguero from Manchester City.

The Argentine has agreed to a two-year deal that will take effect once his contract with Man City runs out on July 1.

The club broke the news in a statement released on Monday.

“FC Barcelona and Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero have reached an agreement for the player to join the Club from 1 July when his contract with Manchester City expires,” the statement reads.

“The player will sign a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season and his buyout clause is set at 100 million euros.”

The 32-year-old is set to be unveiled later on Monday.

Aguero, who lost the UEFA Champions League final with Man City on Saturday, leaves the club after 10 seasons in the English Premier League (EPL).

He scored 260 goals for the club to become the highest-scoring foreigner in the league and just second on the log of EPL all-time goal scorers.

With the Cityzens, Aguero won 15 trophies, including five EPL titles, one FA cup, six league cups, and three Community Shields.

Aguero had earlier announced his departure from The Etihad stadium in March.
