Brighton star, Umotong, missing from Dennerby’s final 23 for Women’s World Cup

Super Falcons head coach, Thomas Dennerby, has sent his twenty-three final list for the 8th Fifa Women’s World Cup in France to the world governing body on Friday, TheCable can report.

TheCable understands that there are no surprises in the final list sent to Fifa by Dennerby.

Brighton and Hove Albion forward Ini-Abasi Umotong is missing from the list sent to Zurich.

The usual suspects include Barcelona forward and former African Woman Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala and fellow strikers Desire Oparanozie and Franscisco Ordega.

Dennerby kept faith with Tochukwu Oluehi, Chiamaka Nnadozie and Jonathan Alaba as the three shot stoppers for the next month mundial in France.

Former junior international Uchenna Kanu, now a student in the United States of America, who shun at he just concluded WAFU Cup championship in Cote D’Ivoire is also listed.

He stuck with Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale and Faith Michael in the defense while Rita Chikwelu, Amarachi Okoronkwo, Ngozi Okobi and Halimatu Ayinde make up the midfield.

The Super Falcons will take on Norway in their first group A match at the Reims stadium on June 8.
