PHOTOS: PDP delegates elect party leaders at national convention
Voting has started at the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holding in Abuja.
Delegates are voting for members who would be elected into positions in the PDP national working committee (NWC).
The voting commenced at 6pm after Yemi Akinwonmi, acting national chairman of the PDP, declared the event open.
Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president; Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto, and Ahmadu Fintiri, governor of Adamawa, were among party stakeholders that addressed the delegates.
Speaking at the event, Akinwonmi said he believes that the election will be successful as the party has a record of hitch-free conventions.
The acting national chairman asked party members to be peaceful and united during the entire exercise.
