Uba Sani
The Kaduna state chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has threatened legal action against Imrana Wakili, a social media user.
Wakili had alleged that Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, purchased vehicles worth billions of naira for local government chairmen.
ALGON demanded a retraction and public apology, noting that the claims are baseless and intended to mislead the public.
In a post on X, Wakili accused Sani of sacking doctors because they embarked on a strike to demand better pay.

He claimed that the government spent N4.6 billion on vehicles for LG chairmen, while paying doctors just N137,000 as salary.
“Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state has begun sacking doctors because they have gone on strike to demand better pay,” he said.
“A state where the state government is spending N4.6 billion on vehicles for local government chairmen claims that the best they can pay their doctors is N137,000 per month, which is the same salary they were paid 5 years ago.”

In a statement, Muhammad Shehu, the spokesperson of ALGON in Kaduna, said Wakili’s claims were “false and baseless”.
The group demanded an immediate retraction and public apology from Wakili, adding that failure to comply within seven days would lead to legal proceedings.
Shehu said the governor has been focused on fiscal discipline and cost-cutting since assuming office.
The association said the document referenced by Wakili is a fabrication designed to mislead the public.

“Governor Uba Sani has consistently prioritized fiscal discipline and cost-cutting measures since assuming office,” the statement reads.
“The referenced document is a fabrication, clearly intended to mislead the public and serve as clickbait for malicious individuals seeking attention and attempting to undermine the Governor’s administration.
“This deliberate spread of misinformation is a calculated attempt to tarnish the remarkable achievements of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, particularly as the state marks his two years in office.”
