Some Kaduna representives with their laurels at 2025 Agile games
Team Kaduna is the champion of the first-ever Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) games.
In a statement on Monday, Ibraheem Musa, the chief press secretary to Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, said the state won eight laurels in total to rank first overall in the entire competition.
Kaduna won gold in five events: girls’ basketball, debate, spelling bee, poetry out loud, and painting.
The state finished second in another three events: digital literacy, essay writing, and environment and entrepreneurship.

Other states that participated in the competition include Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Plateau, Ekiti and Borno.
The AGILE games, which is a national competition to celebrate multifaceted talents in adolescent students, was held on Children’s Day, and the award ceremony was hosted at the state house in Abuja.
Remi Tinubu, the first lady, was in attendance alongside Taimur Samad, Nigeria’s country director of the World Bank.

Other dignitaries at the event include Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno; Caleb Mutfwang, governor of Plateau; and Agbu Kefas, governor of Taraba.
Maruf Alausa, minister of education, and Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, minister of women’s affairs, were also present.
