Jummai Bako, head of service in Kaduna, says Uba Sani, governor of the state, has shown commitment to improving the capacity of civil servants.
Bako spoke on Tuesday after inspecting computer-based test (CBT) centres where civil servants seeking confirmation of appointment were sitting examinations at the end of their statutory two-year probation.
She said the governor has demonstrated this commitment through training programmes and other capacity-building initiatives.
“The purpose of us being here today is to inspect the civil service examination, which will ensure the confirmation of appointment of civil servants who have been on probation,” she said.

“I am impressed by what I have seen so far — from the turnout to the conduct of the exams. For those experiencing little challenges, invigilators are on ground to attend to them promptly.
“From 9am till now, the first batch has completed its exams, the second is ongoing, and the third is lining up.”
She thanked the governor for “providing funds for this exercise and his immense support and dedication, which have further ensured job security for civil servants in Kaduna”.

The HoS urged civil servants to be “dedicated to their job and maintain good work ethics”, adding that the administration’s training programmes should reflect in improved service delivery.
The three-day exercise will feature 5,000 candidates across all cadres of the service. Zone 2 has the highest number of participants with 3,000, while zones 1 and 3 have 1,000 each.
The tests are being held at three centres: Kaduna State University (main campus) for zone 2, Federal College of Education, Zaria for zone 1, and KASU’s Kafanchan campus for zone 3.
