The Kaduna branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has commended Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, for appointing some of its members to key positions in his cabinet.
A statement on Monday by Baba Lawal Aliyu, NBA chairman in the state, said the appointments show the “trust and confidence he continues to place in our members”.
The association congratulated James Kanyip on his appointment as attorney-general and commissioner of justice.
Aliyu described Kanyip as a committed and highly respected member of the NBA Kaduna branch, renowned for his intellectual depth, principled stance, and unwavering dedication to the rule of law.

The association expressed confidence that Kanyip would bring “vision, innovation and integrity” to the ministry and pledged to partner with the office of the attorney-general under his leadership.
The NBA also acknowledged the appointment of Sule Shuaibu as the new commissioner for internal security and home affairs, noting that he had served with distinction as attorney-general and commissioner of justice.
‘’During his two-year tenure, Barr. Shuaibu introduced far-reaching reforms that strengthened institutional efficiency, expanded access to justice, and elevated the profile of the Ministry,” the NBA added.

The association further said the Kaduna branch “deeply appreciates his outstanding contributions and wishes him continued success in his new role”.
