Former Super Eagles striker, Kalu Uche, has signed for Levante until June though with an option to extend that for another season if the club is satisfied with his performance.

Levante are hopeful that his past experience in La Liga will help them avoid relegation from the Primera division.

His first stint in Spanish football with Espanyol didn’t work as planned for the young Uche, who  played for the B team but couldn’t break through to the first team.

He moved to Polish side Wisla Krakow after a year in Spain and also spent a season on loan at French outfit Bordeaux.

Uche returned to Spain in 2007/08 season, joining Almeria for a four-years spell during which he made 123 appearances and scored 28 goals.

When Almeria were relegated at the end of the 2010/11 season, Uche moved to Swiss side Neuchatel Xamax, scoring six goals in 14 games.

He made a return to Spain this time with Espanyol during the transfer window in January 2012, scoring five goals in 15 appearances for the Catalan side.

Uche left at the end of the season when he could not get a new deal from the club.

He subsequently moved to Kasimpasa in Turkey where he enjoyed a rich vein of goal scoring form with 19 goals in 34 games.

The striker has been a journey man since then with moves to different clubs in Qatar, first with El Jaish, then with Al Rayyan in the lower division.

He’s back in Spain to reunite with younger brother Ikechukwu Uche who is in Villarreal, a short distance away from Levante.
