Kanu: There’ll be no Nigeria again by the time I finish my testimony

Kanu: There’ll be no Nigeria again by the time I finish my testimony
December 13
16:57 2016

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of Radio Biafra, says Nigeria will collapse when he gives his testimony in court.

Kanu, who spoke from the dock, said this in protest of Justice Binta Nyako’s decision to shield witnesses that would testify against him at her court.

“Buhari went on national television to accuse me in public and he wants to try me in secret. I will not allow myself to be subjected to this kind of trial,” he said.

“By the time I am through with my testimony there will be no Nigeria. What kind of secret trial? This is not a Sharia Court but common law court.”

On December 1, Nyako had denied Kanu and other accused persons – Chidiebere Onwudiwe, David Nwawuisi and Benjamin Nmadubugwu – bail, citing the severity of their offence as the reason for her decision.

On that day, Labaran Shuaibu, counsel to the federal government and prosecutor, asked the court for an order to mask the witnesses who would testify against the defendants.

He said the lives of his witnesses might be in danger if their identities were not concealed.

But Maxwell Okpara, one of Kanu’s lawyers, told the court then that the government had lined up foreigners, whose identities it wanted to conceal, as witnesses.

“My lord, we have uncovered their plan to bring Ghanaians and people from Cameroon to appear in this court to testify against the defendants,” he had said.

“We as Nigerians will resist that plot. It cannot work. That is why they are insisting that they should testify behind screen. That plot has failed, it will not work.”

On Tuesday, Nyako, a judge of the federal high court, Abuja, granted the request of the government to shield witnesses.

Kanu is facing 11-counts of treason and terrorism brought against him by the government.

We the people of Biafra must be strong and prayerful, we believe in the God of heaven and earth, we believe in Our Lord Jesus, we are the children of the God of Israel, the world should acknowledge Biafra as a nation, we are no longer bound, we are not Nigerians, we are Biafrans, we need our currency, Nigerians should manage themselves, we should no longer be addressed as Nigerians, note that, all hail Biafra.

Irrational thinking.Marriages, however how long it was contracted can still be reviewed and cut short by divorce. Nah by force.

While members of Gboko Haram who declared war against the Nigeria state are being offered amnesty and non has been charged to court, a citizen who exercised his right of freedom of speech is being subjected to kangaroo justice system.
This is true of Buhari, while in government as military junta, politicians from the south were given long jail terms while their northern counterpart were treated with kids glove. No doubt tribalism flows in Buhari vein, he has disappointed southern electorates. We are waiting for him in 2019.

Buhari is a goodman and his policies has helped alot of people including me .He should try as much as possible to stop Nyako from going on with the disgraced masking of witnesses,he also need the igbos for his 2019 election because of what is going on between him and Tinubu.I rest my case.

I personnally do not believe that there is a country as Nigeria were law and order favours and displeased some tribes. There is no Nigeria as the marriage between the Igbos and the rest of other tribes in Nigeria is now at the brink of point of no return. Can the rest of Nigeria now acknowledged that it’s high time that the Igbos will be let to go and form government for their people. Although everyone will appreciate that it will be tough, but it’s time to go, Nigeria!
