Katsina police commissioner dies on election eve

Muhammad Hurdi, the commissioner of police in Katsina state, lost the battle to a protracted ailment on the eve of the country’s presidential election.

Aminu Sadiq, state police public relations officer (PPRO), confirmed the development to reporters in Katsina, the capital of the state on Sunday.

He said that the late commissioner joined the service in 1988 as ASP (assistant superintendent of police) cadet officer and rose through the ranks to the rank of a commissioner.

Sadiq said that Hurdi would be remembered as a patriotic and dedicated officer who gave his best in the service of his fatherland.

Bala Senche, a deputy commissioner of police in the state, prayed that God grants the deceased eternal rest and also wished the family fortitude to bear the lost.
