Kidnapped female editor regains freedom after 4 days in captivity

Iyuadoo Tor-Agbidye, news editor of Radio Benue, who was kidnapped in her Makurdi residence four days ago, has regained freedom.

Moses Yamu, police public relations officer (PPRO) in Benue, confirmed the release to the NAN on Tuesday.

Yamu said she was released in the early hours of Tuesday, and that no ransom was paid.

He explained that investigations revealed that the kidnappers might have had strong connection with the family.

Yamu disclosed that some arrests had been made, and that investigations were ongoing to ensure full punishment of the culprits.

The victim is married to Achim Tor-Agbidye, zonal manager of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Makurdi.
