King’s Trust International (KTI) has named Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, chairman of Access Holdings, and his wife, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, as co-chairs of its Africa advisory board.
Their appointment ends the six-year tenure of Bernard and Genevieve Mensah, the founding co-chairs who helped establish KTI’s operations in Africa.
KTI said the transition comes at a crucial time as it moves to scale programmes focused on education, employability and entrepreneurship for young Africans.
Since launching on the continent in 2016, the organisation has reached more than 30,000 young people in nine countries, with 83 percent of participants securing jobs or returning to school within three months of completing its programmes.

With Africa’s youth population expected to double in the coming decades, KTI described the need for “high-impact, locally guided interventions” as increasingly urgent.
The advisory board was created to anchor that work in African expertise, strengthen regional partnerships and help shape initiatives that reflect the realities facing young people.
The Aig-Imoukhuedes, both of whom have led large-scale social investment, governance reform and philanthropic programmes, are expected to steer the board toward deeper continental influence and the expansion of pathways that connect young Africans to work, skills training and entrepreneurship.

In a joint statement, the couple said the assignment aligns with their long-standing commitment to youth development.
“We are honoured to take on this role at a pivotal time for Africa’s future. Our mission is to unlock the potential and creativity of Africa’s youth, nurturing a generation that will lead sustainable development across the continent,” the statement said, adding that they look forward to building partnerships that translate opportunity into impact.
Will Straw, CEO of King’s Trust International, said the contribution of the outgoing co-chairs had been “exceptional”, noting that Bernard and Genevieve Mensah will remain on the board.
He expressed confidence in the new leadership, saying the Aig-Imoukhuedes bring “deep expertise and a record of catalysing systemic change”.

“We are excited to take our impact to the next level with Aigboje and Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede,” Straw said.
“Their extensive experience and deep commitment will be vital in scaling our programmes and delivering even greater value to young people across Africa.”
