Delegates from the 239 wards in Kogi on Saturday re-elected Hadi Ametuo, chairman of the Faleke faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and his colleagues, except three.

The state congress which held at St Peter’s LGEA primary school, Felele, Lokoja, the state capital, was said to be peaceful, and adjudged to be free and fair by all the delegates.

The election was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other security agencies, to ensure a rancour free process.

“We shall not disappoint members of our great party, we shall not disappoint the great people of Kogi State,” Ametuo said.

“I assure you all that we shall all work hard to re-position the party to continue to win elections as before in Kogi state.

“We gave President Muhammadu Buhari 75 percent votes the last time but we are promising him not less than 85 percent votes in 2019 Insha Allah.”
