Bello appoints first set of aides, demands loyalty

Yahaya Bello, the new governor of Kogi state, has appointed Edward Onoja as his chief of staff and Abdulkarim Abdulmalik as his special adviser on media and strategy.

A statement issued in Lokoja, capital of the satte, on Wednesday, said Kingsley Fanwo has been appointed as the chief press secretary (CPS) to the governor.

The statement personally signed by Bello said all the appointments took immediate effect.

It described Onoja, the new chief of staff, as a tested administrator, who rose to management positions in several blue chip companies in financial, and oil and gas sectors.

He hails from Ogugu, Olamaboro local government area of the state.

Prior to his appointment, Abdulmalik, the new media aide, was a seasoned journalist, social media expert and media consultant based in Abuja.

He hails from Ihima, Okehi local government area of the state.

The new CPS is from Itakete Ide Amuro in Mopamuro local government area of the state.

Until his appointment, he was the Lokoja correspondent of the Vanguard newspapers.

While congratulating the appointees, Bello demanded “utmost commitment” and “humble service” to the people.
