Kogi orders ex-commissioners, aides to return vehicles

Former commissioners, special advisers and other political appointees, who served in the administration of Idris Wada, the immediate past governor of the state, have been given till February 5 to return government vehicles in their possession.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Lokoja, capital of the state, Laraba Okedi, transport officer of Kogi, said the order also affected other categories of political appointees, including members of boards and agencies.

Apart from the vehicles, Okedi said the former political office holders should immediately return other government property in their possession.

NAN quoted sources as saying former commissioners, special advisers and board chairmen were yet to return their official vehicles.

On January 30, Yahaya Bello, the new governor, dissolved boards of all parastatal agencies and other government establishments in the state.
