Mobolaji Olaiya, the commissioner of police (CP) in Kwara state, says the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is now cultism-free.

NAN reports that the CP spoke in Ilorin, the state capital, when he received the management team of the university, led by Wahab Egbewole, the vice-chancellor, in his office.

Olaiya expressed satisfaction with what he described as the prevailing cultism-free status of the university.

“The University of Ilorin stands far apart in terms of disdain for cultism. Even before I came to Kwara, I had heard positive reports about the zero-cultism status of this university,” the police commissioner said.

“This achievement is a result of the effective collaboration between the institution’s management and security agencies.”

Olaiya applauded the uninterrupted academic programme of the institution which he said has made it the “darling” of admission seekers.

He also urged other institutions of higher learning to emulate the success of UNILORIN in curbing cult-related activities.
