Neda Imasuen
Neda Imasuen, senator representing Edo south, has announced his defection from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking in Benin city, the Edo state capital, Imasuen said internal crisis within the LP informed his decision to leave the party.
Imasuen, who chairs the senate committee on ethics, privileges and public petitions, said he would formally join the ruling party on June 12.
The senator said the defection is part of activities to mark his second anniversary in office, adding that the decision is “strategic” and not borne out of “opportunism”.
