Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti state, has congratulated Rashidi Ladoja on his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Ladoja, who turned 81 a day before the ceremony, ascended the throne following the death of Owolabi Olakulehin in June.
The staff of office was presented to the newly crowned monarch by Seyi Makinde, the state governor.
In a statement signed by Ahmad Sajoh, head of Fayemi media office, the former governor described Ladoja’s coronation as “a fitting recognition of his illustrious contributions to public life and his enduring service to the people of Oyo state and Nigeria at large”.

Fayemi said Ladoja’s experience in politics, business, and community service would help strengthen the Ibadan traditional institution and improve the welfare of his people.
He expressed confidence that Ladoja’s reign would usher in peace, stability, and prosperity in Ibadan and across Oyo state.
“Senator Ladoja is widely admired as a man of integrity and courage,” Fayemi said.

“His ascension to the Ibadan throne is a source of pride, not only to the people of Ibadanland but also to all Nigerians who value leadership anchored on service and humility.”
Fayemi prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the monarch, and urged residents of Ibadanland and Oyo state to support the Olubadan in sustaining the tradition of peace and progress in the city.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo and former senator representing Oyo south, is one of the most prominent political figures in the state’s recent history.
