Cornelius Ojelabi, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, says the party worked tirelessly for its victory in Saturday’s LG election.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday during the presentation of certificates of return to the winners of the election, Ojelabi said the APC would not take the trust of Lagosians for granted.
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) presented certificates to 57 elected chairpersons and 376 councillors.
On July 12, the APC secured all 57 chairmanship seats and won 375 out of the 376 councillorship positions contested in Lagos state.

Ojelabi said the party is grateful for the support shown by residents across the state.
“We thank the people of Lagos for believing in our party and giving us this victory,” he said.
“We worked hard for it and appreciate God for granting us strength and the wide acceptance shown by the people of Lagos State.”

He pledged that all elected officials would meet the expectations of the people across the councils, adding that the party has put systems in place to track their performance.
Ojelabi described the conduct of the election as peaceful and credible, commending LASIEC for what he called a historic and people-driven process.
