The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state has described Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the party, as the Moses who will lead Nigeria to its promise land.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Lanre Ogunyemi, general secretary of the party in the state, said Tinubu has contributed to modern Nigeria.

Flanked by the new executive members of the party, Ogunyemi stated that the national leader of the party is articulate and resourceful to lead the country come 2023.

“First and foremost, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has all it takes to lead this country and he has every fundamental right as a Nigerian to aspire. It is now left for Nigerians to either accept or not. it is now left for the party to decide who flags their ship as the presidential candidate come 2023,” he said.

“We are sure that he has everything to lead this nation. And this is a man who has contributed tremendously to modern Nigeria. He is a man who we see as the Moses of our time that has a lot of resourcefulness and he has exhibited that over the years.

“You heard el-Rufai affirming that he agrees that presidency must come back to the south after eight years and that is what is going to happen. You and I know that El-Rufai is a factor as far as Northern Nigeria politics is concerned.

“The most important thing is merit. Who can take us to the place that Nigeria ought to be? Who can articulate issues that will move Nigeria forward? If we find that in Tinubu, why not. Let’s keep watching the body language and see what will manifest in 2023.”

In January, Tinubu said the time is not yet ripe for discussing succession plans, while he also dismissed the reports of President Muhammadu Buhari seeking another term.

There have been reports of Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos, eyeing the number one seat in the land but he has not made any declaration on it.
