Adedayo Ladega, chairman of Ikorodu LGA, Lagos state, has distributed vocational tools and business equipment to residents as part of activities marking his administration’s first 100 days in office.
The “Hon. Ladega Mega Empowerment Programme,” held on Tuesday, November 4, featured the presentation of items such as sewing machines, hairdryers, grinding machines, welding machines, mini tractors, catering tools, freezers, generators, and barbering and vulcanising equipment to artisans, traders, women, and youths.
In a statement on Tuesday, signed by Akeem Mustapha, chief press secretary to the council chairman, the initiative aims to promote self-reliance, small business growth, and inclusive development across all wards of Ikorodu.
Since assuming office on July 28, 2025, Ladega said his administration has been guided by the SEED Agenda — Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development — a framework that prioritises welfare, safety, education, and sustainable growth.

“Our SEED Agenda is not just a policy—it is a pact with the people. We are building a government that listens, acts, and delivers for every resident of Ikorodu,” Ladega said.
Under the SEED Agenda, the local government has embarked on voter engagement drives, distributed free GCE forms to more than 200 students, and organised summer coaching programmes for schoolchildren.
The administration has also executed several community-based projects, including road maintenance, drainage improvement, and solar-powered borehole installations to enhance mobility, sanitation, and access to clean water.

Through the Ladega Food Bank and Support Programme, hundreds of vulnerable families have received food items and household supplies.
Ladega has also established platforms for citizen engagement, such as the Ward-to-Ward Listening Tour and the weekly IJOBA LADEGA radio programme on IKD 106.1 FM, which provides updates, feedback, and accountability.
To improve efficiency and digital transparency, the council distributed modern laptops to management staff and launched an official website for Ikorodu LGA.
The council also introduced the “ITOJU AGBA” Health Insurance Scheme in partnership with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), providing free healthcare for over 300 senior citizens. It has also organised free medical outreaches, including one at Agura Community, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Health.

“Healthcare must never be a privilege; it is a fundamental right. Every citizen deserves access to wellness and dignity,” Ladega said.
Security, one of the core pillars of the SEED Agenda, has been strengthened through support for community policing structures, task forces, and collaborations with law enforcement agencies.
The administration has also sustained the Clean Ikorodu Campaign to promote waste management, environmental hygiene, and sustainability.
In his closing remarks, Ladega expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos; traditional and community leaders; All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders; council staff; youths; and residents of Ikorodu for their support.

“These 100 days are not just a milestone — they are a promise fulfilled. Our administration will continue to serve with humility, courage, and purpose, ensuring that Ikorodu remains a beacon of people-centred governance in Lagos State,” he said.
