Lagos employs 1,200 primary school teachers
Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has approved the employment of 1,200 teachers in the state primary education system.
Ganiyu Sopeyin, chairman of the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), disclosed this on Monday, saying the development will boost the manpower capacity in the state.
Sopeyin said the gesture was part of ongoing efforts of the current administration to improve the quality of education.
He explained that successful candidates were selected from a transparent examination process of international standard.
While congratulating the new teachers, the SUBEB boss urged d them to put in their best in the state public service.
He said the service has a rewarding system which will compensate those who stand out.
