Lagos task force discovers lion ‘used as security guard’ by Indian

The Lagos state task environment and special offense task force says it has discovered a lion cub being used as a security guard in a residential apartment in the state.

According to The PUNCH, Yinka Egbeyemi, chairman of the task force, said the two-year-old cub was discovered at No. 229, Muri Okunola Street in Victoria Island area of the state.

Egbeyemi was quoted as saying the cub is being raised in the said apartment by an Indian.

He reportedly said his officials had been keeping an eye on the house since Friday after residents of the area who made the discovery petitioned the state government.

He said the wild animal will be “tranquilised” on Monday and taken to the zoo.
