Laz Eze, a public health management consultant and founder of ‘Talkhealth9ja’, has joined the Foundation for Cancer Care in West Africa (Fdn4cancercare), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), as an advisory board member.

The foundation, a pan-African organisation established in 2008, is committed to changing the narrative on cancer in Nigeria through the promotion of education and awareness, treatment, prevention, screening, research and capacity building for healthcare workers.

According to Fdn4CancerCare, Eze’s selection is because of his passion and advocacy programmes that are geared towards improvement of cancer treatment in Nigeria, as well as his positive impact in the public health space.

“Given the high level of expertise you have garnered with running a successful cancer support and advocacy non-governmental organisation in Nigeria, your passion for the improvement of cancer treatment outcomes in Nigeria and your impactful public health and health policy work, we are confident that your invaluable contributions to the Advisory Board will serve to actualize the vision of the Foundation,” the invitation letter reads.

“Joining the Advisory Board of Foundation for Cancer Care will give you the unique opportunity to positively shape the narrative on cancer in Nigeria and in Africa at large and positively impact the healthcare of millions of Nigerians.”

With the appointment, Eze will join other medical practitioners who have made a mark in cancer prevention and treatment such as Oge Ilegbune, Bindiya Sadarangani, Chinyere Iwuji, David Ifezulike, Chukwumere Nwogu, Fabia Ogunmeka, Paul Onwuanibe, among others as board members.

“I’m excited with this opportunity to support the works of the Foundation for Cancer Care in West Africa as an Advisory Board Member. Together, we shall do more to defeat cancer in Africa,” he said.
