Some Nigerians on social media have reacted to the launch of “Operation Crocodile Smile” across the nation by the Nigerian Army.
According to Musa Sagir, army spokesman, the exercise scheduled to commence on Tuesday, is meant to identify, track and “counter negative propaganda” in the social media.
The exercise is coming at a time when Nigerian youths are protesting against police brutality in major cities across country.
Social media has been the force behind the protests and some of the protesters have accused the military of attempting to clamp down on them.

.@HQNigerianArmy, please face #BokoHaram. The #EndSARS protesters are not an enemy. They are fighting for you too. @NigeriaGov send you to the war front ill-equipped, because of corruption and bad governance. Don’t bear arms against young people fighting for a better @Nigeria. https://t.co/cbs7p7aqwz

That’s what they know best, flexing their muscles on poor civilians, instead of facing boko haram boys and other insurgents.

Let their Crocodile smile on Boko Haram and not on #EndSARS protesters unless they want to put ordinary water to a flame or fire to make it more. #EndSARS

History has shown over the years that immediately military are sent to subdue a genuine protest in a democracy, that govt is on the brink of a fall.
The demands are simple & genuine, if military is the way forward then this govt should prepare 4 the worst. The world is watching

Let’s govt. be more diplomatic in dealing with this volatile issue, this seems to be not more far fetched from the usual protest we used to witness in this country. Let the govt stop the outlandish and disgusting strategy in curtailing this Movement.

Crocodile smile, Python dance etc that have not been able to put a stop to the evil activities of Boko Haram, Bandits, Herdsmen Militias and Kidnappers across the various Regions of the Country abi? The launch is to put more in the pockets of the top officers. Nonsense!
