The police command in Ebonyi says a middle-aged man identified as Dick Nnachi was beheaded in Oso-Edda, Edda LGA of the state, during a communal clash.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, was confirmed on Sunday by Joshua Ukandu, the command’s public relations officer (PPRO).

According to NAN, Oso-Edda and Amasiri communities in Afikpo LGA have been involved in a long-standing land dispute that has frequently led to clashes between residents.

Ukandu described the recent killing as “wicked and inhumane”, adding that police officers have been deployed to the area to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to book.
