Man collapses after receiving sack letter in Kaduna

Abubakar Shu’aibu, a messenger at Government Secondary School, Sabongari Zaria, Kaduna state, reportedly slumped and went into coma on Tuesday, after receiving his sack letter.

Shu’aibu, 47, is said to have served the state for 11 years.

“We reported to work this morning and Abubakar Shu’aibu was invited to zonal education office; on reaching there, they served him with a sack letter,” NAN said quoting a source.

“When he returned to the school, he showed us the letter and we all advised him to see it as an act of God Almighty as nothing happens to a person without the consent of God.

“He also admitted that that’s what God had destined for him, but all of a sudden, the man collapsed and went into coma instantly. We acted very fast by giving him a first aid. We took him up and lie him down on the floor, fanning him continuously and he gradually regained his consciousness.”

The teachers present at the scene of the incident were said to taken a decision to contribute from their salary to empower him.

They also begged Sa’idu Liman-Umar, the school principal, to consider recalling Shu’aibu as a temporary worker.
