The Kwara State Fire Service has recovered the body of a 43-year-old man from a domestic well at Ile Alapo, Edun area of Ilorin.
The fire service said the victim, identified as Kazeem, jumped into the well while under the influence of a hard substance known as ‘Colorado’ after returning from Eid prayers.
“The Kwara State Fire Service has recovered the lifeless body of a 43-year-old man from a domestic well at Ile Alapo, Edun area of Ilorin,” the fire service said in a statement on Saturday.
“The distress call was received by the Fire Service control room at about 10:29 hours, reporting that a man had fallen into a well.”

The fire service said it promptly deployed its operatives to the scene after it received a distress call at about 10:29 pm.
It added that the body of the deceased was handed over to the police ahead of formal identification by the family.
Falade Olumuyiwa, the fire service director, warned residents to steer clear of drug abuse to avoid tragic outcomes.
