An auto accident that occurred at the Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Avenue axis of Ikoyi, Lagos, around 6:40pm on Saturday left dozens injured.

A commercial bus heading to Ajah from Obalende collided with a Honda Civic car and it somersaulted.

Those who sustained injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while policemen overtook the scene of the crash to prevent angry youths who witnessed it from attacking the driver of the car, who was blamed as the cause.

“I almost boarded the bus but had a change of mind because it had few passengers and I was in a hurry to get home so that I could break my fast,” someone who escaped the crash told TheCable.

“Eventually, the bus left before the one I entered got filled and I was almost blaming myself until 20 minutes later when we got to the scene of the accident.”

Expressing gratitude to God for sparing him from the incident, he spoke of the need for drivers to avoid over-speeding and to be patient with one another.
