Mr.Olusola Aluko, presiding judge of a Magistrates’ court in Osogbo, Osun State, has pardoned 19-year-old, Olusola Tunde, who was confined to three months imprisonment for disrespecting a magistrate.

Aluko said the remorseful countenance of the convict earned him the pardon.

However, he gave Tunde an option of N2,500 fine.

The prosecutor, Insp Isiaka Ajadi, had earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence at Osogbo High Court on March 18, 2014.

He said the offence contravened Section 133(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.

Counsel to the convict, Mr Najite Okobie, had urged the court to temper justice with mercy, after Tunde pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.
