Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, won’t risk John Obi Mikel in Saturday’s Barclays Premier League match against Stoke City.

The Blues welcome the Potters to Stamford Bridge, but the Super Eagles midfielder will not be considered for selection despite having recovered from injury.

Mikel has not played for Chelsea since early February after undergoing minor surgery on a troubled knee.

And Mourinho is not prepared to risk him on Saturday either.

“Mikel is fine and working all week with the group but he is very tired so he is not selected, but he is not injured,” he said.

“He is tired because he was injured for a month, he had surgery and he was not working with the group, so after four sessions with the group he needs time to adapt and needs time to be in condition.”

Mikel, who still has nine games ahead of him before the season ends, has featured in 21 matches in all competitions this term, scoring one goal.
