John Obi Mikel, Super Eagles and Chelsea midfield star, has decided to put on hold contract renewal with his club until summer.
According to Mikel’s agent, the player has ecided to wait until the end of the season before sorting out his future.
“Chelsea have approached him for an extension,” Metro Uk quoted him as saying.
“But he said after the season he’ll decide. He has many teams interested – almost three clubs in China want him.”
Mikel is in the prime of his career and his next contract is likely to be his last big one – so getting it right will be very important.
His current deal expires in 2017.
