Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation, says the federal government will come up with transformative reforms to restore the lost glory of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

Idris spoke on Friday during a working visit to the NTA and FRCN offices in Kaduna.

He said the NTA and FRCN have lost their glory due to poor equipment, infrasturucture, and poor attitude to work by members of staff over the years.

The minister said President Bola Tinubu’s administration would explore all available options in ensuring that the two stations regain their place of pride.

“To properly situate the NTA and FRCN as positive agents within the federal government agenda, we must appreciate the fact of their current underwhelming performance in an ever competitive, creative, and technology-driven operating environment,” Idris said.

“My coming here today in the company of the directors-general of the NTA and FRCN is to genuinely seek a realistic approach to addressing some of these challenges, which is at the forefront of our priorities.

“We shall explore all the available options to ensure that we restore the lost glory of the NTA and FRCN.”
