The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) says troops of sector 4 bombed an identified hideout of the members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

TheCable understands that the military received intelligence and validation on the location of the terrorists after which the sector dropped artillery bombardment on the ISWAP hideout in Bulabulin, Mobbar LGA in Borno.

A military source who spoke with TheCable said the bombardment led to the death of nine terrorists while the “entire hideout turned to ashes.”

The source said despite the artillery dropped on the hideout, a few of the terrorists escaped and fled in the direction of Lake Chad.

“Following the validation of the information, the troops of MNJTF sector 4 swiftly responded with a decisive artillery bombardment on the identified ISWAP hideout in Bulabulin, Mobbar LGA,” the source said.

“The intensity of the explosions reverberated through the area, signalling a critical operation.

“The assault resulted in the neutralization of nine terrorists, whose lifeless bodies were found at the site during the early hours of today. The ferocity of the onslaught left the hideout in ruins, with the entire camp turned to ashes.”

On July 15, TheCable reported that the Nigerian air force killed scores of ISWAP fighters around the Lake Chad region.

Through a series of air strikes, the air force destroyed hideouts of the terrorist group and dropped bombs in Arina Chiki, a known terrorist shelter in southern Tumbuns of Borno.
