An angry mob, on Friday, set ablaze property belonging to one Ramoni, a suspected kidnapper, in Omu-Aran, Irepodun LGA of Kwara state.

Some of the properties that were torched by the mob include two private cars, two houses and a hotel structure belonging to the suspected kidnapper.

Ramoni, a hotelier, was said to have been whisked away by soldiers along with one Bunmi Popoola, described as his accomplice, over their alleged involvement in a kidnapping saga in Odo-Owa, Oke-Ero LGA of the state on Thursday.

According to NAN, an unnamed hunter in Odo-Owa alerted security agencies and foiled the payment of ransom to secure the freedom of a kidnapped victim.

Some of the kidnappers were said to have fled the scene, while Ramoni, who was in his car with Bunmi and was reportedly heading toward the location of the crime, was arrested by soldiers.

Popoola, aged 27, who was formerly a kingmaker in Odo-Owa community, was in October 2016 expelled by the Odo-Owa traditional council for criminal activities.

The duo is said to have been on the radar of the youths in the community over kidnapping crimes.
