Moghalu to speak at cybertech global conference in Dubai

Kingsley Moghalu, former presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), will join other world leaders to speak at the cybertech global conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The event is an annual gathering of top leaders in the field of cybertechnology, and is scheduled to take place from April 5 to 7.

Moghalu will speak on “The Challenges and Opportunities of Cryptocurrency: A Global Perspective”.

Speakers at the conference include Mohammed Al-Kuwaiti, head of cybersecurity on the UAE government; David Petraus, former director of the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA); Wesley Clark, former supreme allied commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), and Kyriakos Pierrakakis, minister of digital economy in Greece.

Others are Tamir Pardo, former head of the Mossad, Israel, and Michelle Conninsx, assistant secretary-general and executive director, counter terrorism executive directorate, United Nations (UN).

The conference will review developments in the cybertechnology ecosystem and its applications to governance, national security, business investments, finance, and academia.

As a deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from 2009 to 2014, Moghalu led the implementation of several reforms in banking and payments system, including the development and introduction of the Bank Verification Number (BVN).

The reforms expanded financial inclusion and enabled the rapid growth of the financial technology (FinTech) industry in Nigeria.
