Flying Eagles assistant coach, Nduka Ugbade, has ordered Musa Mohammed to apologise to Dream Team coach Samson Siasia for his “unacceptable” behaviour.
Mohammed, the Flying Eagles captain, left the camp of the national U-23 team – which he was seconded to with four of his colleagues – before their All-Africa Games qualifier against Zambia.
And Ugbade, his coach in the U-21 team, has condemned his behaviour commanding him to apologise to the U-23 coach.
“Musa’s behaviour is highly unacceptable and he must apologise to coach Samson Siasia,” Ugbade said.
“What he did is bad and shouldn’t be encouraged at all. There’s no reason for him to have left the camp the way he did, and without the knowledge or consent of the coach.
“That is indiscipline and I think he must apologise first of all before anything else. Sometimes these young lads get misled.”
Ugbade, being a former player himself, gave reasons why some players are “misled”.
“When you hear the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success, Chidiebere Nwakali, Musa Yahaya and so on signing big contracts abroad, plus the pressure from their parents and agents, it can turn a player’s head and make him do stupid things, but they must learn to be patient and wait for their time,” he said.
