Manchester City continued their dominance at the top of the English Premier League with a 1-0 victory over reigning league champions, Chelsea.

It was goalless after a first half of few opportunities at the Etihad.

City dominated possession but could only create a couple of openings. Leroy Sane came the closest, but the German saw his effort blocked on the line by Cesar Azpilicueta.

Although Chelsea lacked in adventure, enterprise, and ambition upfront, Nigerian wingback Victor Moses was a constant thorn in City’s flesh.

Within 40 seconds of the second half, Manchester City ended Chelsea’s resistance as Bernardo Silva poked an effort home.

Pep Guardiola’s men have taken another step towards the league title with the defeat of Antonio Conte’s charges.

Manchester City sit atop the EPL with 78 points.
