Some offices and service outlets belonging to MTN Nigeria have been reopened after a two-day closure, TheCable can report.

Some MTN facilities in Lagos, Ibadan and Uyo were attacked during protests against xenophobic attacks carried out on Nigerians living in South Africa.

Other shops including Shoprite and PEP were also affected.

According to sources within the company, some outlets were opened on Friday for operational reasons.

Following the attacks, MTN Nigeria announced a closure of all its service outlets and offices.

“MTN Nigeria Communications PLC confirms that over the last day, our facilities, customers and some of our stakeholders have been the subject of attacks in retaliation for the ongoing xenophobic situation in South Africa,” it had said.

“We have confirmed reports of attacks in Lagos, Ibadan and Uyo. While we remain committed to providing uninterrupted services, the safety and security of our customers, staff and partners is our primary concern.
