Mu’azu: Nigerians should pray for Chibok girls, 2015 poll

Nigerians must endeavour to pray for the abducted Chibok schoolgirls and victims of bomb blasts across the country in the spirit of Yuletide, Adamu Mu’azu, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Monday.

Mu’azu, who was speaking in his New Year message, urged Nigerians to pray for peaceful election in 2015 and eschew violence.

“I wish to take the opportunity of this New Year message to urge all Nigerians to pray for peaceful polls in 2015, enhanced national security and the continued development of our dear country by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan,” he said.

“I also urge Nigerians to pray for the families of our missing school girls and the victims of the various bomb blasts in Nigeria, just as we thank God for the mercies granted us by freeing us from the scourges of Ebola and the positive transformation of our country in various fields.

“The steady progress Nigeria has made in recent years has been outstanding and we must thank God for making our country the biggest economy in Africa, not forgetting increased agricultural production and the investment opportunities our country continued to attract as well as the massive infrastructural development at the local, state and national levels.

“Nigerians must eschew violence as we approach the 2015 election because we must show the world that our democracy has come of age over the last 15 years of democratic governance in the country. I wish all Nigerians a happy and prosperous New Year and my prayer is that God will grant us the wisdom to choose love instead of hatred, peace instead of war and progress instead of stagnation.”
