Musa credits Rohr for his success, says ‘you inspired me to excel in football’

Ahmed Musa, CSKA Moscow striker, has praised his national team coach Gernot Rohr for having a huge influence on his career and for constantly motivating him.

In an Instagram post, the Leicester City loanee described the Super Eagles gaffer as a “great teacher”.

Musa thanked the Franco-German tactician for being an inspiration to him, and also for visiting him in Russia, where he moved back to in January.

He wrote: “Words cannot express gratitude I am feeling for what you did. I appreciate your generosity. What did I ever do to deserve you?

“You are amazing, a great teacher and have inspired me to excel in the game of football. I stumbled and failed but you taught me never to give up and keep on trying. I just want to say Thank…. THANKS for the visit.”

The 24-year-old forward is one of the most experienced players in the young squad of the Super Eagles.

He had an exemplary outing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup 2014 when he scored a brace for Nigeria against Argentina.
