Ahmed Musa, captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, is very confident that the team will defeat Egypt in Kaduna in the first of the two vital games of the African Cup of Nations 2017 qualifying ties against the Pharaohs.

Speaking with TheCable on phone on Friday, Musa praised the team list of Samson Siasia thus: “I can say the coaches have come up with a good team list to select the final 23 from for the two-legged game against Egypt on the 25 and 29 of this month.

“You know that Nigeria is blessed with lots of talents in this game.”

Musa, who captained the Eagles to victory in the last game against Swaziland, expressed confidence in the ability of the caretaker coaches to lead the team to victory.

“The coaches selected by the NFF are very good ones. They know their job well. Full of experience. Siasia coached the Super Eagles before. Salisu Yusuf has been with the team for a while now. Amuneke is also a very sound coach,” he said.

“With coach Alloy Agu, the combination is a very good one for the team right now. I am sure that we will do Nigerians proud in Kaduna and far away Egypt where the matches will take place.”

Musa, who scored a brace against Argentina at the FIFA World Cup 2014, said the Kaduna venue of the game is the best in terms of Fans enthusiasm: “I don’t have anything against Kaduna being the venue of the game. In terms of fans, it is the best place for us to play right now.

“The people will come out en masse to cheer us to victory that day, which we will be a morale booster for us.”

The CSKA Moscow assured Nigerians of victory, saying: “I am assuring all Nigerians that we will make them proud by God’s grace. We won’t disappoint them. They should support us with prayers and come out to watch us play.”
