My administration deploying strategies to end school abductions, says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says his administration is deploying “detailed strategies” to ensure schools are secure for learning in the country.

In a statement on Sunday, Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson, said Tinubu welcomed the news of the release of the abducted students of the Government Secondary School Kuriga, Kaduna, and Tsangaya in Sokoto.

The president commended Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna; Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser, and the security agencies for the safe release of the abducted Kuriga students.

The president said the dedication towards the safe release of the victims is “critical to optimal outcomes in cases of mass abductions”.

In the early hours of Sunday, Sani announced the release of the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren.

Sani Abdullahi, a teacher at Government Secondary School Kuriga, had said 287 students were missing after the attack on the schools.

On Friday, 15 students abducted from a Tsangaya school in Gidan Baya, Gada LGA of Sokoto regained their freedom.

The students were kidnapped on March 9 when bandits attacked their community.
