N350bn in three days, NSE’s loss gap widens

Data available on the Nigerian Stock Exchange show that trading ended in the bourse since Monday, August 28.

Since the close of trading on Friday, August 25, the market has lost a total of N350.64 billion naira falling from N12,631,036,509,419 to stand at 12,280,391,384,632 at the close of trading on Wednesday.

At the close of trading on Monday, the market lost N113.44 billion to close at 12,517,588,127,862.

Total, Airservice, Cutix, Vitafoam and Continsure were the top five gainers on Monday while Mobil, Transexpr, Conoil, Champion and Livestock were the top five losers.

On Tuesday, market capitalisation dropped by N52,176,567,931 to stand at 12,465,411,559,931 at the end of the trading day.

Champion, Neimeth, Cutix, Maybaker and Livestock led gainers on the bourse while Mobil, Jaiz Bank, Okomuoil, Julius Berger and FirstAlum were the top five losers.

By the end of trading on Wednesday, market capitalisation had lost N185 billion to stand at N12,280,391,384,632.

Cutix took the lead on the gainers chart with other companies like Maybaker, Continsure, Total and NEM making top five.

FirstAlum, NAHCO, Mobil, Dangote Sugar and Honeywell Flour were the top five losers on the chart.
