The organisers of the 2025 eTranzact Golf Classic have announced a record-breaking N50 million as the professional purse for the third edition of the tournament.
The competition is billed to be held from June 12 to 14 at Lakowe Lakes Golf Club in Lagos.
The 2025 championship, running under the auspices of the Professional Golf Development (PGD) Tour, will be the biggest local Tour Purse.
Male golfers from Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Cameroon, Togo, Gabon and Cote d’Ivoire would compete alongside lady professionals.

Francis Epe, a member of the organising committee, said the latest edition would have invited amateurs to feature in the closing rounds of the three-day event.
Niyi Toluwalope, CEO of eTranzact, said the championship principally aimed at uniting Africa’s finest golfing talent.
“The Classic has evolved into one of the premier events fostering golf excellence on the continent as a reflection of the innovation we represent as organisers,” Toluwalope said.

“This year’s record purse underscores our commitment to elevating the value and recognition of African professional golfers in the quest for creating a pathway for global success.”
On his part, Femi Olagbenro, commissioner of the PGD Tour, has commended the organisers’ dedication to advancing professional golf in Africa.
“Since joining the PGD Tour calendar in 2023, eTranzact has demonstrated unparalleled commitment to growing the sport in alignment with the Tour’s target to nurture and showcase Africa’s professional golfing talent to the world and the unprecedented number of participants for this year’s event,” Olagbenro said.
